down, and let me have it back tomorrow. I enclose a list of those on hand which may be considered as likely to be acceptable, and, if you think any or all of them to be so far suitable for the Society as to be accepted for reading, I shall be much obliged by your marking them on the list and sending it back to me. Southwell's paper is in your hands, so that you will be able to decide whether Dr Chree's criticisms are so destructive as to preclude us from reading it, or whether they are concerned with details which can be adjusted before publication.' |
