Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to John Evans, [Treasurer, Royal Society] |
Date | 21 September 1891 |
Description | Rix recently had the opportunity of a conference with Professor Harry Govier Seeley. He reports that Seeley is against a reduction in the size of the plates for his paper, having noted that all other figures in the series of papers have been done in half size, and if only for the sake of comparison, these should be the same.
Rix reports that as a result of pressure put upon him, Seeley has agreed to cut two of the plates, and may cut a third if a little more pressure is applied, though he suspects he will not compromise further. The cost will then be reduced to around 25 pounds, and Rix asks if Evans will accept this, or whether he should proceed to get referees opinions and let the matter stand for the Committee of Papers. |
