Description | Harrison had an interview this morning with the Office of Works Clerk who has large experience in adapting Government buildings again air raids and he has given his advice. On the subject of fire the Clerk questioned the liability of the Government for the building's safety but in the case of the Royal Society he is looking into the question of affording fire protection. He strongly advised that the Society should have a night watchman and the Clerk suggested Mr John Collier, who Harrison and Arthur Schuster approve of. |
