Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Sir John Evans |
Date | 16 June 1893 |
Description | The cleaning and whitewashing of the basement was deferred until the Society got rid of the engine. The basement is in a shocking condition and Rix proposes obtaining an estimate from Lindfield before next Council for putting it in order. Unless he hears from Evans to the contrary by Monday he shall proceed.
The President [William Thomson] has called and wishes Rix to tell Evans that Sir F de Winton says the addresses ought to be sent to the Queen, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke of York, and Princess Mary. The seals ought to be affixed in Council unless Evans had a resolution about that yesterday, and if necessary a special Council should be called for the purpose. |
