Title | Copy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, [Royal Society] |
Date | 22 June 1894 |
Description | Rix asks how he should respond to an inclosed letter from the Society for the Preservation of the Monuments of Ancient Egypt, and emphasises that it is on their own Council day.
He also reports that Lord Rayleigh believes it would be an improvement to put type at the sides of the figures in their 'Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society'. Rix asks for confirmation of his authority to give the printers orders to this effect, noting it is a radical change. He notes that the present plan looks better, but that Lord Rayleigh's plan is likely to provide the same saving. |
