Title | Letter from W H [William Henry] Bragg, the Royal Institution, 21 Albermarle Street, London, to [Robert] Robertson |
Creator | Bragg; Sir William Henry (1862-1942); British physicist |
Recipient | Robertson; Sir Robert (1869-1949); British chemist |
Date | 20 June 1939 |
Description | Robertson will have heard that the Royal Society Club is not to dine at the Athenaeum Club any more. Everyone is sad, but the decision will not be reversed. Bragg dislikes the idea of going back to a restaurant, and wonders if they could dine at the Royal Society. He has spoken to [Horace] Lamb about it and thinks it is a viable solution, describing what the arrangements might be. If it were to continue, the Club might acquire property such as the remarkable silver of the [Royal] Academy Club. |
