TitleLetter from E J [Edward John] Russell, Rothamsted Experimental Station, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, to Harry R [Ralph] Ricardo, 21 Suffolk Street, Pall Mall, London
CreatorRussell; Sir (Edward) John (1872-1965); British agricultural scientist
RecipientRicardo; Sir Harry Ralph (1885-1974); British mechanical engineer
Date17 October 1942
DescriptionHe asks for the bundle to be sent to him at the Athenaeum, or by Carter Paterson to the laboratory at Harpenden, where they have good storage. Russell saw Dale and the Officers of the Royal Society on Thursday; all agreed that the dinners [of the Royal Society Club] should be restarted. Dale asked if something could be arranged on 22nd, when [Jan Christiaan] Smuts is in the country. The notice is short, and Russell has to be away for the Ministry of Information, but his secretary will do all possible. Miss Bushell will ring Ricardo to send out notices if Smuts can come, and if Donnan can find a suitable place.
