Title | Letter from Archibald Geikie, Shepherd's Down, Haslemere, to [Robert Henry] Scott |
Creator | Geikie; Sir Archibald (1835-1924); British geologist and historian |
Recipient | Scott; Robert Henry (1833-1916); Irish meteorologist |
Date | 26 June 1922 |
Description | He thanks Scott for his kind note accompanying the notice of the Royal Society Club anniversary. Although he enjoys fairly good health at home, it fails if he moves away and therefore he cannot attend the Club meeting. The Treasurers will have a lively time with more than a dozen candidates until voting. If proxies were allowed, there are several names that Geikie would vote for.
With a pencil note 'written to because he was historian & senior member'. |
