Description | From Thomas Gold at 13, Barrow Road, Cambridge 'Adding to my letter of the 30th October, I am now able to say that the University authorities are in agreement with the interpretation of the statutes which I quoted. There is, hence, now no question whatever of acceptance of a nomination for the Chancellorship. It is only after the University has decided on whom to confer this honour that an acceptance would be desired.
In the event of no communication being received from Pandit Nehru, the election would remain a domestic University issue which, I am now more confident then ever, will result in the offer being made to him.' |
