DescriptionFront page news -'Nehru does not wish to stand' Article relating to election of Chancellor of Cambridge University.

'Pandit Nehru has intimated that he does not desire to enter into a contest for the Chancellorship of the University.

A letter was accordingly sent to the Vice-Chancellor by ten signatories of his nomination to-day, indicating that members of the Senate would in the circumstances be asked not to vote for Mr Nehru.

In his letter the Indian Prime Minister expresses his appreciation of the decision to nominate him.'
