| Title | Letter from [William George] Armstrong, Cragside, Rothbury, to [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, 66 Victoria [Street], London, S.W |
| Creator | Armstrong; William George; Baron Armstrong (1810-1900); British armaments manufacturer and industrialist |
| Date | 21 March 1892 |
| Description | Seeking an account of recently made experiments 'to show the discharge of a Leyden Jar consisted of a dying ant series and of alternate jumps[?] to & fro between the discharging balls'. upposes that the idea is that 'the intial discharge from the positive or negative over leaps itself and converts the negative into a positive coating thereby causing a rebound'. Wishes to know more about it as he has reasons to believe that the same action takes place in the discharge of the induction coil. |
