Title | Letter from William Crookes, 7 Kensington Park Gardens, London, W., to [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton |
Creator | Crookes; William (1832-1919); British chemist |
Date | 1 June 1907 |
Description | Thinks it best if he sends Swinton a bound copy of his early Philosophical Transactions papers, explaining he had a few bound up for friends. Believes Swinton is going into a new subject carefully and offers to help prevent him repeating old work. Refers to an old lecture he gave, titled "Radiant Matter", where he showed experiments bearing on the point, as well as his Address to the Institute E.E where showed a vacuum tube in which two mills were driven round by the going and returning stream of electrons. |
