Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to H. H. T. Burbury |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 3 June 1921 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of a previous letter. Informs that his lecture at the Wireless Society went well although it was impossible to get really good results from any aerial that can be put up at the Society of Arts, woing to the large number of wires spreading in all directions that there are on the roof, creating a screening effect as well as introducing disturbance. Remarks that the audience was enthusiastic and the interest expressed in Burbury's system of removable transofrmers. Adds that he also demonstrated a two-valve amplifier with a single removable transformer fitted with a tuning condenser. |
