TitleLetter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to J. S. Highfield [Esquire]
CreatorSwinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer
Date28 April 1927
DescriptionAcknowledges receipt of a previous letter. Not sure how he can recommend to the Board to agree to Devonshire giving a direct supply to Messrs. Chivers without consulting Edmundsons. Emphasises his point, explaining that it may prejudice their position in the town, and if Edmundsons are going to take over the management, they ought to be consulted meanwhile on any important step before it is taken. Seems to him that Devonshire has prejudiced this position by allowing his subordinates ti approach Chivers and quote them a price behind their back, which he had no business to do.
Pleased to see published in The Times a very nice reference to Highfield in the speech of the chairman of the South Wales Power Co.
