Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to J. S. Highfield [Esquire] |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 10 May 1927 |
Description | Acknowledges receipt of two previous letters, noting its contents. Gathers from the penultimate paragraph that they should give formal sanction to Devonshire for the projected line being run but asking him at the same time for a more satisfactory price for a supply at Site No 1 at 33, 000 volts, and asking if he can provide them with a portion of his site at this point. Seems to him that the latter should go to the B. C. H. Company and not to Devonshire personally, and should be written by Morse, who has been dealing with the matter, and that if they do this, they should inform the Electricity Commissioners that they have given formal sanction to the projected line. Asks if Highfield agrees with this. Mentions being aware a circular that was sent to the shareholders of the Cambridge Company offering to buy their shares at £18, presuming it to emanate from Devonshire. |
