Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to The Editor of The Daily Herald |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 3 January 1928 |
Description | Draws attention to unfair treatment in a matter of correspondence on the part of the Morning Post, whereby they published a letter from Lord Askwith, a copy of which he encloses, in support of greyhound racing, in which he omitted any allusion to the fact that he himself is an interested party, being Chairman of a large greyhound company in which he has considerable financial interests. The Morning Post refused to publish a letter, excusing that they had asked Lord Askwith to write it and therefore unable to attack him for asking him to write it. Maintains that the Morning Post should have informed readers that Askwith is an interested party and that he has since asked them to publish an abbreviated statement indicating his, to no avail. |
