Title | Letter from [Alan Archibald Campbell] Swinton, to Alice [Campbell Swinton] |
Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 20 February 1928 |
Description | Has no idea whether he is going away other than a few days at Easter. States Alice is welcome to visit for a week at the end of March. Commenting on her wireless, he though the tree to which the wire is attached moves in the high wind, and thus breaks the wire, suggesting the best remedy is to make the wire slack as t make it strongenough to hold to the tree will probably mean pulling it off the house. Comments he has no experience in relation to her wet batteries but with regard to high-tension dry batteries his experience is that when these once begin to drop their voltage, they tend to go fairly quickly. Suggests the Glasgow Marconi people as well as the shop in Sterling. |
