Creator | Swinton; Alan Archibald Campbell (1863-1930); British electrical engineer |
Date | 18 September 1928 |
Description | Informs he has just returned from his travels in Germany and Austria. He saw Menzies on a matter yesterday and comments it is quite correct that Mr. Blake was invited by the Council of the Royal Society of Arts to give a lecture, done at a Council meeting he did not attend. Praises Mr Blake and comments on his abilities as a lecturer, recalling a lecture he gave on wireless telephony. Despite this, warns that Blake is very untactful, advising Lodge to excuse himself on the ground of his many other engagements. Maintains that if he is asked to Chair for Blake, he will give a similar excuse. Provides further context on Blkae, explaining the story begins when he was a member of the Society of Radiographers. Informs Lodge he has notified Menzies of having advised him to decline the Chair for Blake. |
