Amongst scientific material are notebooks of experiments, technical drawings, short subject specific essays, as well as curious items such as Swinton's passport and a wireless message received from General Fustave Auguste Ferrié. Additional records of scientific experimentation are interspersed throughout Swinton's personal diaries. Swinton also held an interest in poetry and even worte some of his own.

Some of Swinton's essays on televison are referred to in the letters within ACS/1/3/8.
