Description | Fincham writes of various uses of chloride of lime before describing its application to mining, and specifically to destroying firedamp [methane] which accumulates in coal mines. He describes several experiments carried out to this effect. Minor corrections appear throughout in graphite. A graphite annotation at bottom of final page reads 'Archives'.
