DescriptionIn this covering letter from Will [William] Roy to Mr [Joseph] Planta preceding Macdonald's paper on bomb fuses, Roy reports that he is returning the manuscript to Planta. He writes that Macdonald's machine is not a significant improvement on current similar machines used in bomb making, but that it shows the engineer [Macdonald] has an interest in engineering improvements.

A graphite inscription top left reads 'To Mr Planta'.
