Description | The restriction of franked letters has impeded their correspondence, sends a letter via his neighbour. Asks after Blagden's health and sends extracts from his meteorological register. Describes severity of cold weather. Asks Blagden to collect the Philosophical Transactions for 1783 and 1784 for him and asks if can acquire the medal of Captain Cook for him. Has read of dissensions and hopes they will soon be terminated. Asks for an account of new patent lamps and other news. Discusses attack on Lord R--d's plans for Plymouth and Portsmouth. His youngest daughter is very ill. Gives news of Miss Woolcombe and her elopement. Asks Blagden to insert an epitaph by Geach for "old Sparrell" in the Gentleman's Magazine. |
