Description | The Royal Geographical Society Council agrees that the magnetic results from the Antarctic Expedition should be taken over by a Royal Society Committee. The RGS Council hopes that Lieutenant [Albert] Armitage and [Louis] Bernacchi will 'be invited to reduce their own observations in connection with experts appointed by the Royal Society'. The cost of reducing the meteorological expeditions will be covered by the sale of the 'Discovery', and the RGS Council will guarantee £500 for this work. The financial responsibility for the magnetic observations will rest with the Royal Society. |
