DescriptionExtended letter on the long history of the scheme for establishing a School of Tropical Medicine in Bombay [Mumbai], the associated Tata Professorships, and the failures of the Bombay Government in supporting the institution. He notes that it is becomig increasingly improbable that the Government of India will support a Central Research Institute. Tata concludes by stating that he will expend money on the next best alternative, scholarships for Indian medical trainees, to allow them to study abroad.
