| Description | In reply to Lord Elgin's despatch, his ministers are of the opinion that the establishment of a station for solar physics in Australia is a matter for the Commonwealth Government. He has forwarded a copy of the despatch to the Chancellor of Adelaide University, who would be willing to comply with the sugggestion from the Royal Society, that an observatory could be affiliated with the University, provided funding could be found. |
