Description | Extract copy from 'Holinshed's Chronicles' vol 2, fol 168, published in 1577 a multiple-volume chronicle of British history. The extract describes a sighting of a merman in Suffolk [England] by fishermen who caught a fish resembling a 'wild man'. The merman was balding, with a beard and hairy chest, he did not speak, and he ate fish raw. He eventually escaped back into the sea and was never seen again.
