Description | A note in the margin reads 'Vermes in lingua et gingivis' [worms in the tongue and gums]. De Mayerne presents a case study which was reported to him involving the appearance and removal of small, white worms found on the tongue and gums of a woman in London. At the end of the paper a remedy is described in which white wine is mixed with alum and applied to the tongue with sponge or cloth. This manuscript was found in the papers of Théodore de Mayerne.
