DescriptionLister describes the case of two boys who cared for and cleaned the wound of a dog who was bitten by a rabid dog in October 1679. The children were not bitten themselves, but they fell ill with rabies symptoms the following May, and it was believed to have been caused by the poison of the mad dog. The children had a few further fits but eventually became well.
