Ordered ' That a letter be written to Henry Hobhouse Esq Under Secretary of State to Lord Sidmouth requesting his Lordship to apply to the Board of Ordnance for the loan of a Serjeant two Soldiers and a Bell Tent, and two Trench Tents and a proper cart to convey Instruments and Baggage which will be required in determining the vibrations of the pendulum on the principal stations of the Trigonometrical Survey.

Captain Kater was requested to superintend the preparation of the following Instruments required for the above purpose, viz.
A Solid Pendulum
A Transit
A Repeating Circle

Captain Kater presented an Account of Experiments made to determine the rate of two pendulums, and to ascertain the number of vibrations made by the magnetic needles sent out with the northern Expeditions.

It was ordered to be left in the care of Mr Lee. '
