Minutes of meeting on 6 July 1875 read and confirmed

Reported by Mr Lockyer;
1. Progress in the Report he had been requested to draw up
2. Had been unable to complete examination of returned instruments

Letters read concerning expenses incurred by Professor Tacchini, including letters from Italian Charge d'Affares at Calcutta, and the Peninsular & Oriental Company. Resolved;
1. That ' Peninsular & Oriental Company be informed the Eclipse Committee do not admit Professor Tacchine was authorized to incur any expense on account of the Royal Society in respect of the passage of himself and assistant, and the freight of his instruments from Calcutta to Venice; but that the Committee are in communication with the Italian Government through the Foreign Office on the whole subject, and a further communication will be made to the Company. '
2. The bill presented from the India Office for freight of instruments of £9.10.5d be paid.
3. W Little Esq, Mrs Ingram and C F Penros to receive the Committee's thanks for the loan of thier instruments.
