Minutes of las tmeeting of 28 January read and confirmed.

Reported by Mr Lockyer that Lord Salisbury had approved and forwarded Mr Lockyer's reply to the India Office submitting a reply to the Viceroy's telegram [Wording listed]

Letter read from the Astronomer Royal [Wording listed]

State of preparation of observers and instruments reorted by Mr Lockyer. Summary of report and list of instruments copied into the minutes.

Resolved that;
1 After hearing Mr Lockyer's report that the expedition should proceed.
2. An official letter be written to India Office requesting services of Colonel Strange for inspecting and packing the instruments
3. Mr Reynolds services accepted and lists his salary
4. Mr Boys be informed the expedition is full
5. An official letter be sent to the India Office requesting the ship for the observers for the Bay of Bengal meet the English party at Galle, and the ship might drop the Indian obsdervers at their station on its way to Galle.
6. A letter to be written to the Secretary of the P and O Steam Navigation Company ' requesting the Captain be asked to receive photographic chemicals, which would be separately packed and delivered to him. '
