Minutes of meeting of 11 November 1875 read and confirmed

Unanimously resolved;
1. Information collected ' does not make out a case for an increase in the annual number of fifteen ordinary elections, and that they are not preprared to recommend any change in this respect at present.
2. That the President and Secretaries be requested to draw up a Report embodying the views of the Committee
3. This paragragh to be included; "Whether it might not be desirable that the Council should have the power of recommending for election under certain restrictions, men of highly distinguished for other than scientific attainments, somewht in the same manner as Foreign Members or Privy Councillors under Rule IV instead of allowing them to come into competition with the more scientific candidates from whom the fifteen are selected, is a matter which we recommend for the consideration of the Council."
