Results received from Mr C Freeling of the results of the gauging of Casks which took place at the meeting of this Committee at the Excise Office on Monday 26 January 1835 presentd by the Treasurerer [Listed in detail]
Resolved;
1. That this form be approved and that one hundred copies printed
2. That Mr Bate be directed to construct forthwith a gravimeter capable of displacing 10,000 grains of water, according to his suggestion for the purpose of making certain experiments according to Mr Faraday's instrucitons and with the best thermometer in his possession; and that he be also directed to make, with every attention to accuracy, a mercurial thermometer with a scale form 32 degrees to 212 degrees, and occupying about twenty inches in length.
3. That a similar order for another thermometer of the same description be given to Mr Newman |
