Minutes of the 3 July meeting read

Hugh Lord Willoughby of Parham, Peter Davall Esq, And James Short elected auditors of the Treasurer's accounts

Letter of thanks received and read from the Trustees of the British Museum for the Transactions sent to them.

James Burrow moved, and resolved unanimously ' that Mr Waddington one fo the Society's Observers being now returned vrom St Helena, a Letter of Thanks from the Council be written to the Court of Directors of the East Indies Company, by C Morton Secretary, for the favours conferred on the Society's Observers, Mr Maskelyne and Mr Waddington, in the Voyage, and at St Helena. '

Ordered by ballot the Treasurer pay bills from Mr Ellicott, MrMaskelyne, Mr Richardson, salaries of Mr Hauksbee, the two Secretaries eith a gratuity, and salary of Dr Parsons

Ordered a gratuity of ten guibeas to Dr Morton for ' his extraordinary trouble and particularly his assiduity in the late applications to the Admiralty, in relation to the Society's observers who are gone to the Cape of Good Hope. '

Transactions to be delivered to Sir Matthew Fetherstonhaugh Baronet, and Edward Wortley Montague Esq.

List of defaulters to annual contributions read, ordered Solicitor's to write to those in default for three years or more.

Die for striking the annual Copley medal taken out of the Chest and given to Mr Alchorne of the Tower, to strike ten medals of gold from it.
