' The Minutes of the last Council were read.

Resolved by Ballot, that the clause of provisal of a late statute respecting foreign members made February 6, 1766, beginning with 'Provided always..' etc to the end; be now repealed.

Resolved by Ballot, that the following clause of provisal (respecting foreign members) be read at another meeting, viz Provided always, that this Regulation shall not extend to Foreign Prices or their Sons; Nor to such Foreigners who being at the time resident, or who shall have been resident for the space of six months, in Great Britain, shall desire to be elected into the Society, in the same manner, and upon the same Conditions with the Domestic Members; paying their Admission fee and Composition money.

Resolved by Ballot, that an observation of the ensuing Transit of Venus be taken, under the direction of the Council, in or about Londonderry in the Kingdom of Ireland.

Resolved, That the Earl of Macclesfield, Jonathan Watson Esq., and Dr Nichols, have such volumes of the Transactions as they have not received.

Ordered, that in all future applications for Transactions not yet received, be limited or confined to such volumes, of which there are copies remaining in the Society's possession. '
