' Minutes of last meeting read.

The Astronomer Royal laid before the Council several letters and estimates relative to the sending an Observer to Spitzbergen ; and the question being put, it was resolved by Ballot, that upon the information before the Council, it is not advisable to send an Observer to Spitzbergen.

Captain Douglas acquainted the Council, that he should be ready to sail by the beginning of April. '
