Letter from Bentinck, Netherland Legation, Bolton Street, 16 July 1840 to the Marquess of Northampton, full text entered into the minutes: in response to the Duke of Sussex's request for information on tides along the coasts of Dutch possessions in the East Indies, lists the locations in Java and Sumatra where observations will be registered. Letter from C. Romilly, House of Commons, 13 June 1840, to John William Lubbock: the Speaker has agreed that reports of the House will be sent to the Royal Society, as formerly, but not other sessional papers, other than those on scientific topics; thanks to be conveyed.
