DescriptionPrinted minutes containing matters laid before Council, the Royal Society's governing body of Fellows, with records of decisions taken.

Commencing with a list of Council members present: Francis Baily; Marc Isambard Brunel; Reverend Dr. William Buckland; John George Children; William Clift; Reverend James Cumming; Benjamin Gompertz; George Bellas Greenough; Charles Konig; William George Maton; Roderick Murchison; William Hasledine Pepys; Peter Mark Roget; the Treasurer, John William Lubbock, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Mr. Dessiou to be allowed to have volumes of the Nautical Almanac from the Library, until Admiralty copies are supplied. John William Lubbock to be allowed to have the Nautical Almanac 1808-1826 from the Library. Lubbock suggested adding four new columns to the Tables for the Tides ordered to be printed at last Council, approved. The General Statement of the finances of the Society to be read to the Anniversary Meeting. Mr. Baily reported, on behalf of the Auditors of the Treasurer's Accounts, stating that the balance in hand was £543 9s. 2d.
