Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Mr. Halswell applied via Michael Faraday, for an extension of the time for admission to the Fellowship, necessitated by a severe accident, granted. Letter read from Dr. Rosen, applying on behalf of Mr. Hermann Brockhaus of Leipzig, for permisison to consult the Society's oriental manuscripts, granted. Letter from Mr. Edward Snell, estimating £14 12s., as the cost of providing fixtures and rehanging portraits in the Meeting Room, the Treasurer authorised to proceed. Section 3 of Chapter 3 of the Statutes referring to annual payments of £40 to be repealed. Resolved by ballot that the new statute to include payment of £60 from 4 December 1834. Draft of a new statute stating that Fellows who have published a paper may compound for the sum of £40. |
