Includes arrangements for Wilkie to visit various laboratories to see different examples of high-pressure equipment and an application by Archibald Vivian Hill FRS and Wilkie to the R. W. Pauls Instrument Fund of the Royal Society, to enable them to develop special equipment for studying the behaviour of living material under hydrostatic pressure. The Society ended up granting financial assistance for this purpose.
