Citation | Monseigneur Francois-Xavier de Bon Marquis de St Hilaire &c First President of the Court of Accounts, Aids and Finances: and President of the Royal Society of Sciences at Montpellier This Nobleman, well known in the Republic of Letters by his great Love for usefull and polite Learning, by his considerable Collection of Curiosities Natural and Artificial, of Antiquities, Medals &c; and in particular by his Learned Dissertation upon the Usefullness of the Silk of Spiders, Sent to the Royal Society in 1710 & printed in No 325 of the Philosophical Transactions, and by his Invention of the Montpellier Drops Chymically Extracted from Spiders Bags; is very desirous of being a Fellow of this Society; & is accordingly recommended as a Person likely to become a very usefull Member & Correspondent, by us |
