CitationThe Reverend Father, Abbe de Gua, Public Proffessor of Philosophy in the College Royal at Paris, and Well known by his Mathematical Works; being desirous of being elected a fellow of this Honble Society; we do accordingly propose him as a Candidate for the Same; and recommend him, as well on the Credit of his known reputation, as at the earnest desire of Messieurs Maupertius, Montesquieu, & Buffon, Fellows of this Society residing at Paris, As a Gentleman of Great merit and knowledge, every way well qualified, and deserving the honour he desires.
