Citation | Abbe Sallier of Paris keeper of the kings Library there, Being desirous of Offering himself a Candidate for Election into this Royal Society, we who are well acquainted with his great merit & eminent Learning, as well as Zeal for the promotion of all Sorts of usefull and Philosophical knowledg: do hereby propose and recommend him as a Gentn perfectly well qualified, and to whom many of the Society have been greatly obliged by his ready communication of whatever could be of Service to them in the magnificent Collection of Books Entrusted to his Care; and which Collection has it Self been much improved by his Judicious and large additions; and will be yet rendered more usefull to all the world, by the Learned & Exact Catalogue, of which he has already given Several Volumes. |
