Citation | Monsieur Secondat de Montesquieu, of Bordeaux in France, only Son to Monsr de Montesquieu President of the Parliament there and a worthy Member of this Society, being desirous also of the Honour of being Elected into the Same: we whose names are under written, and to whom he is personally known, do accordingly propose him and recommend him as a Gentleman of great merit and distinction, as a man of general Learning, well versed in Mathematical and Philosophical knowledg, and every way well qualified to be a valuable and usefull fellow of the Society |
