Citation | John Edye Esquire, chief Clerk and Naval Architect and Professional Assistant in the Department of the Surveyor of His Majesty's Navy, residing at No 27 Doughty Street, Mecklenburgh Square, a Gentleman very conversant with the Theory of Naval Architecture, and the Author of a work entitled "Calculations relating to the Equipment, Displacement &ca of ships of War", and, also, of other official Documents connected with the Naval Resources of India, being desirous of becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society, we whose names are underwritten, do, from our personal knowledge, recommend him as highly deserving of the honor he solicits, and as likely to prove a valuable and useful member |
