Ex-Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and Official Assistant to the Professor of Natural Phisosophy in the University of Glasgow. Author of 'Scattering of Light by Small Particles' (Quart Journ of Math, 1899); 'Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves by Spheres' (ibid, 1899); 'Dependence of Refractive Index of Gases on Temperature' (Phil Trans, 1902); 'Theory of Refraction in Gases' (Phil Mag, 1903); 'Some Problems in the Distribution of a Gas' (Boltzmann Jubilee Volume); 'Distribution of a Gas in an Electrical Field' (Phil Mag, 1902); 'Drifting produced in Ions by Electric Waves' (Proc Roy Soc, 1905); 'Resistance to Motion of Electrified Systems of Finite Extent' (Phil Trans, 1910); 'Experiments at Eskalemuir relating to the Electrification of Bodies in the Air' (Report of Advisory Committee for Areonautics, 1909-1910).
