Author of numerous papers, among which the following : - 'On the Development of 'Sagitta' (Quart Journ Micros Soc, 1902, vol xlvi); 'Experimental in Hybridization with Echinoids' (Phil Trans, 1903, ser B); 'On the Inheritance of Tortoiseshell and Related Colours in Cats' (Proc Camb Phil Soc, 1904, vol xiii); 'On the Maturation of the Egg in 'Tenthredinidae'' (Quart Journ Micros Soc, 1906, vol xlix); 'Breeding Experiments with Lepidoptera' (with G H Raynor, Proc Zool Soc, 1906); 'Recent Work on the Determination of Sex' (Science Progress, 1909), republished in Smithsonian Report, 1910; 'On Sex-inheritance in the Moth, 'Abraxas grossulariata'' (Rept Evolution Committee, Royal Society, Pt iv); 'Gametogenesis of the Gall Fly, 'Neuroterus lenticularis'' (Proc Roy Soc, 1910, B 82, and 1911, B 83); 'Some Stages in the Spermatogenesis of 'Abraxas grossulariata' (Journ Genetics, 1911); 'On the Oogenesis and Spermatogenesis of 'Pieris brassicae' and the Oogenesis of 'Abraxas grossulariata'' shortly to appear (ibid); 'Cytological Observations on Hybrid Echinoderm Eggs' (with J Gray), to appear in the Quarterly Journal Microscopical Science, 1912).
