Description | Date stamp on reverse |
Citation | Distinguished for his knowledge of mathematical and experimental physics. His experimental work has dealt mainly with photoelectric and thermionic phenomena and his theoretical work with relativity and quanta. His researches on the quantum theory are of fundamental importance. His published papers include: - 'The Quantum Theory of Radiation and Line Spectra' (Phil Mag, 1915); 'The Quantum of Action' (ibid, 1916); 'The Complete Photoelectric Emission from the Alloy of Sodium and Potassium' (Proc Roy Soc, 1917); 'The Quantum Theory of Energy and the Emission of Electricity from Hot Bodies' (Proc Phys Soc, 1913); 'Relativity and Gravitation' (ibid, 1919). |
