Title | Ingold, Sir Christopher Kelk: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Date stamp on reverse |
Citation | He has distinguished himself by research, mainly in the field of organic chemistry, in which subject he has published, during the past ten years, numerous communications dealing with the structure of carbon compounds and with the conditions affecting alteration in structure, especially in relation to tautomeric change in ring-systems and in open-chain compounds. In these papers he has introduced a novel method of attack, involving mathematical treatment, which cannot fail to be of great service in dealing with organic chemical problems in the future. Has also published important papers in the domain of physical chemistry and has published (jointly) a monograph on the chemistry of the Vat Colours (Longmans, 1923). |
