Author of over 50 papers: 'The Molecular Condition of Mixed Liquids'; 'The Osmotic Pressures of Plant and Animal Fluids'; 'Oxidases'; 'The Estimation of Sugar-Mixtures involving their Oxidation with Bromine'; 'The Hydrogen-ion Concentration in Sea-water, Tissues, and in Soils in relation to Plant Distribution, and to the availability of Iron'; 'The Silica and Phosphate Content of Sea-water,' showing that the latter Constituent sets a limit to Algal Growth. Author of 'Researches in Plant Physiology' (1916).
